The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) conveys its deepest condolences to the victims of the devastating earthquake that recently hit the province of Van in eastern Turkey near the Armenian and Iranian borders. The Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute of Turkey have estimated that between 500 and 1,000 people may have perished in the 7.2-magnitude earthquake.
In response to this tragic event, the ATAA’s trusted humanitarian assistance partner, the Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF), has established the Van Earthquake Relief Fund to help the rescue effort.
100 % of your contributions will go to AKUT, KIZILAY and TPF grantee partners who are directly involved with the Van rescue effort.

Members of the Turkish American community and the friends of Turkey had shown memorable generosity towards the victims of the August 1999 earthquake in Izmit, western Turkey. We have no doubt that the Turkish American community will respond with the same solidarity, generosity and humanitarian activism for the victims of the earthquake in Van, eastern Turkey.
