TWENTY7 will be performing 3 songs at the ATASC Children’s Day Festival 2011 on this Sunday.
ATASC Chapters’ Turkish Schools, and 2 junior musicians will be with us with few songs in the company of Saz & Guitar..In addition, Vedat Gursoylu will be DJ and will be teaching Horon & Zeybek to all ages during the event.
All games start @ 11.00 a.m. Lunch will be served 12.00-1.30 p.m. Magician Mark Paskell’s show will be starting 1.00 p.m. Official opening is 1.30 p.m.
Adult Lunch: Chicken & Beef shish kebab, pilaf rice, traditional salad, lavash bread, BBQ tomato, Acili Ezme (hot pepper paste with walnuts), Hummus, Borekas, Sekerpare (Turkish desert), Revani (Turkish desert with semolina), & some Baklava. Kids will have Kosher Hotdogs, homemade muffins, snack packs & fresh fruits, etc. Lunch accompanied by soft drinks. Please note that food is guaranteed for guests who did RSVP by April 12, 2011.
Turkish Tea and Turkish Coffee with an authentic atmosphere will be served
The two jump houses, snow-cone, popcorn & cotton candy stands will be ON all day long.
Our three face painters will be on duty:) starting at 12.00 noon.
Arts & Crafts corners are designed & decorated with so many varieties of goodies for kids to create own art pieces.
Story telling in English & Turkish is voluntarily provided by a licensed teacher & Turkan Saylan book club of Turkey.
Turkish Airlines, Izmir Sister City Project & Turkan Saylan Book Club, ATASC- Izmit Aslan bey Turkish School representatives will be with us as well as ATAA & TABAN, andPaxTurcica & Azeris.org, Azerbaijani-American Council (AAC), and Students’ Associations of various Universities.
Kids will be individually portrayed by professional Photographer Tolga Guldas. Parents are free to dress kids like carnival
Are you ready for TAVLA Tournament & Turkish Spelling Bee Contest? Wow, those will rock you:))
We are challenging kids with Turkey-Geography 101 Contest, we are teaching geography in a game, kids will love it. Families also enjoy with three-legged race, guessing games, hot potato, and more.. All corners of picnic area will be full of activities.
Long Beach Police Department will be offering “free” ID card for the kids.
Many games, many prizes!
Please bring you picnic gears & TAVLA. You are also welcome to bring food to share, balls for soccer & basketball.
