Did you know Long Beach has a sister city in Turkey? The Izmir-Long Beach Sister Cities Association would like to welcome you to their exciting new project – the creation of “Izmir Grove” in Recreation Park in Long Beach.
The association is working closely with Long Beach based architectural firm Studio-111 and the Parks and Recreation Department to create a friendship park at 7th Street and Park Avenue. This peace garden featuring a center nautilus plaza and symbol of peace, the olive trees will commemorate the friendship between these two cities and their communities.
Please join us as we introduce this endeavor and other sister cities projects to the Long Beach community. This project is an opportunity to partner our cities, open the doors of goodwill and friendship between our peoples and make a difference in world peace and global understanding.
