ANKARA (AA) – The National Basketball Association (NBA) free agency period started with a bang as many star-level players changed their teams or stayed for higher amount of salary.
Former MVP Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will join Brooklyn Nets in NBA‘s free agency night as D'Angelo Russell will sign a 4-year deal with Warriors that will be worth $117 million.
Durant will sign for a 4-year deal for $164 million, while Kyrie Irving's contract will be $141 million in over 4 years, according to the NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of the ESPN.
The Nets will also sign DeAndre Jordan to a 4-year $40 million deal, to form a big three in the city.
Durant announced his free agency decision from Instagram, via his company 'The Boardroom'.
The All-Star forward will miss next season due to Achilles injury, which he suffered during the Game 5 of the NBA Finals against Toronto Raptors.
He underwent a successful surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon.
