Call for a greater U.S. cooperation with Turkey in its struggle against the PKK
In August 2012, Congressmen Ed Whitfield (R-KY) and Alcee Hastings (D-FL) introduced House Resolution 772 that reaffirms U.S. support for Turkey’s struggle against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)/Kongra-Gel. In June 2012, Senators Joe Lieberman (CT), John McCain (R-AZ), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced a similar resolution 486 in the U.S. Senate.
