Take Action Against CNN’s Broadcast of a Speculative Map involving Turkey. Oppose irresponsible and incendiary propaganda at a sensitive time.
On October 7th, 2014, the CNN International News broadcast a map showing the so-called Kurdistan carved out of the parts of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. Such representation is inaccurate and incendiary, as there has never been a historical, geographical, or political entity known as Kurdistan with defined borders inside eastern Turkey. The borders of the Republic of Turkey, established by the 1923 Lausanne Treaty, have been recognized by the United States and the United Nations. CNN’s insensitive presentation fuels the agenda promoted by the PKK, a militant group recognized as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and most European nations.
Join the Pax Turcica action calling the attention of CNN management and media to the issue, urging a corrective action and a reconsideration of similar broadcasts in future.
