Come out for a night of FUN with the Turkish Cultural Club and Turkish Student Association at UCLA!
We will be showing/discussing Fatih Akin’s documentary, Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul, on Turkey’s music blending the sound of West and East. The country’s sonic tableau also includes rap, hip-hop, punk rock and other genres. With German bassist Alexander Hacke as guide, the eye-opening film moves from region to region, capturing everything from neopsychedelic rockers Baba Zulu to street performers Siyasiyabend.
