OCTAA at City of Irvine’s Global Village Festival
For the 6th consecutive year, OCTAA ( Orange County Turkish-American Association) took its place among many cultural exhibits representing the Turkish Republic and the Turkish culture at the City of Irvine’s Global Village Festival held at the Bill Barber Park on October 2, 2010.
OCTAA’s booth was again the most colorful and popular among all of the cultural exhibits educating the greater community about Turkiye and sharing our culture, history, traditions, arts, music, and customs. Hundreds of visitors enjoyed stopping by our booth and sampling Turkish delight (lokum), pismaniye, and kolonya. We provided brochures about places to visit in Türkiye and a wide range of books on the founder of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Ottoman history, Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, and historical/religious sites in Turkey.
